Pollock's Artistic Legend - Deeply moved by abstract & surrealism ie. Picasso, Pollock then morphed his art into highly abstract paintings that expressed pure emotion. His uninhibited exploration eventually evolved into his famous DRIP technique, in which he energetically drew, threw, dribbled and dripped paint of varying thickness in complex linear patterns on enormous canvases. The canvas was placed on the floor and then the paint would just start flying. At times, the paint was shot directly out of the tube! Aluminum was often added to give a metalic effect. His energetic, emotional attitude and intense devotion to the very act of painting led to the term Action Painting. Pollock became the leader of a new art revolution which opened the world's eyes to Abstract Expressionism.
