All of the artworkon this page is by web design and digital artist, Diane Lennox. Digital Art is created using a high powered computer software graphic art program. The methods used to create art this way are as varied as the human race itself, since so many different combinations & permutations of tools & brushes can be used.
QUOTE DIANE LENNOX: To me, digital art is the ultimate in mixed media creativity. The program that I really love is Fractal Painter, one of the older versions by Creative Painter 5. The brushes I really have fun with are the new brushes; gooeys, cloners, glow and impasto. I use the effects menu to create organic variations on my brush strokes. I use them all alone and in combination.
When I get a number of layers, all with different transparency and differing composites that affect each other, I play around with which order to put them in for the most interesting final image.
I love the turbulence and diffuse motion brushes in the gooey collection. When I make the diffuse motion brush the same size as my image and the just let my brushstroke go sailing across the page, it picks up every individual pigment in my image and flings all quite a distance. It's like a tray of multi-coloured sand, if you could somehow pick it up and just hurl each grain a few inches and they would land in basically in the same order but a little crazy. Honestly, it is fun just to try it and watch your image go nuts right before your eyes.
That brings me to another reason I really love using my MAC computer and Painter graphic art software; COMMAND Z. UNDO. I can undo up to 30 actions with this command. I am free to err all I want and I can just go back and undo if it did not work out the way I like it. This opens up a whole new world of experimental brushstrokes and image changes and allows more space for those Happy Moments when the image making process becomes the creative.
I apologize for having to place the Not 4 Copy watermark over my images. If you would like to view them without the watermark, please email me with the contact link above. I will send you a copy.
